I would love to swap our 75 450SL exhaust to a newer exhaust to get the catalytic converter under the vehicle instead of in front of the firewall (where it roasts us). When did the cat converter move under the car? Any weird issues that come to mind?

I would prefer to keep the catalytic in place. Also, I like to enjoy quiet convertible rides so a straight pipe wouldn't work for me but I do appreciate your post.

 

Allow me to re-phrase my thoughts, I would prefer to keep a catalytic or 2 on the car.
