I have a 85 500SEL gray market, (european model) with a 280 motor in it, chassis number is 126.023 and motor is 110.987, original motor I just replaces was a 110.989, a lot of tracking to figure out where the motor came from as most 500SEl's are V-8. Now runs fine, still need a couple of adapters to install a couple of sensors in the head/block as the old ones I took out weren't very good after all the trouble of taking them out, so still looking for a couple adapters for them.</P>
