300D '82 Stereo Installation Problem
 

Hi,

I'm attempting to replace my stock cassette player with a modern SONY CD player. The schematics seem pretty rudimentary - I have located the power antenna, the left and right speaker, the antenna, the power, and the ground. The initial problem that I am facing (after I have hardwired everything) is that I am not getting any power from the chord that was supplying power a few minutes ago to the stock player. I have checked the fuse box and the fuse for the stereo is in good shape. Why might I not be recieving power to my new stereo? I also would like to mention that I have checked the power wire with an electric circuit tester and I got no reading. Thanks for your help.
