I own a 1979 240D which is in need of new axle joint boots. I've discovered two outer boots and two inner boots are approximately $200 plus$200 labor to have installed after I remove the axles myself.
I have found new axles on different websites for prices that range from $125-$405. The 8mm homokinetic joint axlesare in the $125 range and the annular joint axles are in the $405 range. I have two questions: 1. What is the difference between the homokinetic joint and annular joint axles? 2. $125 sounds too cheap, does anybone know if these are good quality productsor are they junk?
