2004 E500 Airmatic intermittent problem
 

I have a 2004 E500 with 62k that I bought new. I had the front two struts replaced when they failed and the front of car bottomed out and would not raise back up. This was about 4 years ago...off warranty and with about 35k miles.

Over the last several years (about twice a year) the visit work shop light arrows would come on and the rear suspension would ride rough, but level. Then after turning the car off (for example when getting gas) the light would go off, then maybe come back on. Then over night, go off and stay off for another six months.

In the last month or so, the light has been back on and will come back on every other day, unless I turn it to the softess setting (off...not 1 or 2)

Yesterday the just right rear corner bottomed out but only when the car was parked at an severe angle on an unlevel street. It pumped up and would stay that way if the car was parked on a level parking area. It did it again later that day and now it is fine even on an unlevel parking area. The work shop light has not come on during this time. Any ideas?
