1999 SLK 230 Headlight Washer Nozzles
I am the owner of a 1999 SLK 230 which has the headlight washer system. For the 10 years I have owned this vehicle I have never used this option so last week I decided to test it. The washer window in the bumper opens fine and the nozzle extends properly. The pump seems to be working correctly in that when activated it shoots a stream of washer fluid out 5 to 6 feet. Unfortunately the washer fluid is projected straight forward in front of the vehicle. Good if I want to wash the taillights of the car in front of me but not so good if I want to clean my headlights. I hate to spend $250+ to buy new nozzles when I will probably never use this option again. On the other hand, I am a stickler for wanting everything on my vehicles to be in operating condition. The part numbers for the nozzles are 170-860-01-47 and 170-860-02-47 and range in price from $90 to $150 each depending on whether they are used or new (OEM). Any suggestions on possible quick fixes would be appreciated.
