Exclamation 1998 ML320 AM Radio Static

I need your help.

For awhile now I have been experiencing allot of BAD static on my Stock AM radio.

It is on most of the time but will go on an off if I go over a bump, open a door or simply turn the radio on and off several times, then it comes back again.

Anyone have any suggestions???

I would appreciate it allot!

the am and fm antenna splitters go bad, or the antenna wire comes loose from the splitter or antenna amplifier, it is in the rear liftgate...youll need to remove the panel to access the splitter the amplifier is close to the rear wiper motor. there is another splitter on the rear liftgate but i think its on the side by the glass. or the connection behind the radio has come loose. there also have been problems with the break pad wear indicator casing static in the radio while breaking the car. i think that was from a differnt model benz other than your ML. I think that was the 2003 and newer E classes that did that.

Default AM Radio problem

chassis221,
I have a 1999 300 Turbodiesel with a similar static problem. Do you know where I might find the splitter and amphlifier in my model?
Thanks.
