Hello.
I will soon be buying a 1976 Mercedes 280 and moving from Kansas City, Missouri, to Portland, Oregon. This car came with a three speed automatic transmission, and I would like to know if anyone knows anything about a four speed auto that would fit in this car. Mostly, I'm just trying to save gas on this long trip, since I don't expect this car will get the best mileage. I doubt Mercedes had a 4 speed in '76, but is there a different year that would easily replace the stock one?

i havnt figured out if you can put a standard in a 76 280c but if you replace yours i would buy the auto trans from you if reosonable thnx preacher8770@yahoo.com
