1974 280C carb float
 

Hello I am getting ready to rebuild my solex 4a1 carb on my 280c,,I have purchased a new float from MB,,and a carb rebuild kit,,the kit however didnt have a float gauge like kits I have purchased before. I do know that float guages can be bought seperately. I also have not been able to find a measurement in a inch form. I do have the M 110 service manual and it tells to make your own tool,,which I am trying to avoid, the reason would be that the top of the carb will have to be removed and replaced until the level is correct, which may damage the new gasket. Any help would be appriciated thanks.
