Default 190D overheating ..pls help!

hi! im a newbie here, i just bought a mercedez benz 190d 2.2L automatic
and its really a slow car, there are alot of issues in the car.
1st issue is its overheating during traffic and when i switched on my a/c during traffic as well, i checked the radiator and there are no leaks.. what can i do to solve this? second issue why is it that sometimes the gears are not shifting to its proper gear bec its revving alot. pls help

The 103 and 104 3.0 engines are known for bad head gaskets leading to cooling system failures. Know nothing of the 2.2 but would be checking on that. Compression check, or radiator shop to check for a exhaust gases in cooling system. Follow the thread here on the guys who had problems with 300E overheating. Very informative. Good luck.
