1072 350SLC NO Start condition

HI,

I have a 350SLC 1972 vintage that won't start. The previous owner thinks it was the fuel pump, but I by-passed the relay (located in the proximity of the ignition coil, on the inner fender. Now I got pressure. When I crank, sometimes it sputters a little sometimes nothing at all.
The car has a common fuel rail so there is no fuel distributor. IT has an ecu but I don't know how to test that, without pulling the injectors and looking for a spray pattern. I don't believe it's getting fuel to the cylinders the way it should.

Also the car sat for 1-2 years so it might be a corrosion issue. I guess my plans are to remove the fuel regulators and clean them out, and if that doesn't work check the injector pickup located on the distributor. Anyone know how to check that?

Thanks

RE: 1072 350SLC NO Start condition

you only got two things to look into.

fuel: pressure, injector spray pattern, fuel quality, and injection time.

ignition: crankshaft/camshaft timing should okay. spark quality, spark timing, electrical leak/ground, and duration of spark pattern.

if all are met, the engine will run smoothly.
