"Reduce Oil Level"
 

recently purchaed a 2000 E280 and am getting a malfunction reading of "reduce oil level".

please help.

First determine whether this is a correct or incorrect warning.

I make the assumption that your age of vehicle still had a dipstick for checking oil level manually.

Park car on level ground and check level with dipstick. see handbook.
If it is overfull this can cause damage to the engine breathing system and the level should be reduced to the correct maximum level.

yeah it was overfull and I corrected it
