body work advice
I'm such a bonehead! Was backing my 2006 CLK out of the driveway last weekend, was in a hurryand forgot about the broken freezer I sat out on the street earlier in the day for pickup. Swung out of the driveway and sideswiped my CLK against the freezer. Have scratches and dings in the passenger side door and fender.
Took it to the MB recommended body shop and they want $1700 to repair and repaint the door and fender. Will definitely get the work done, I can't leave it the way it is. But now I'm all paranoid about getting new paint and whether or not it will be detectable that it's been painted. Any words of advice (besides watch where you're driving ) about things I should look out for or ask for when getting the work done? Can I expect the car to look "like new" without any signs that it's been painted?
