NEWBIE: Which Diesel model should I buy for under $7500?

HI
I'm going to buy a Diesel Mercedes but am unsure which model to buy.
Although I do like the classics very much, I will be driving this car a lot and want it to be very comfortable on my back.
I really don't need to spend all of the $7500 so if you have a good idea for a less expensive model, I would love to hear it.
I live in California, so if you know of a particular vehicle for sale, I would love to hear about it.

I'm not really wondering what $7500 will buy; but rather, what is your recommendation of what model I should buy and why.
