1985 300d turbo air filtration

Does anyone know of any aftermarket air intake replacements for improved
airflow to turbo. The stock intake appears to be very restrictive as intake sits behind the hood and has to do a 180 degree turn before entering turbo.

Thank you for your response but I may have worded my question incorrectly. The air filtration does seem more than sufficient it just appears that where the air enters behind
the lowered hood, and between filter housing and turbo seem to be very restrictive. I just wanted to know if the were any replacements for improved air intake and flow through the system. It just always seems like 5 minutes after a new Camaro,Mustang, or pickup truck
is on a showroom floor that there is a replacement for cooler air intake that improves performance and gas/diesel milage.

Thank you again for your reply, you more than likely saved me some $$ as I was looking to change out to anything that looked like it might have some improvement in performance in mpg primarily. I will start another post or you can answer here as to what is the most fuel efficient speed or rpm to run a 1985 300d with turbo.
