Wiring harness for 84 300SD?
I would like to remove the old Becker radio that is in my 84 300SD and install an Aiwa CD player, but I do not know where to get the correct wiring harness. Any suggestions? Also I would like to know if there is an easy way to remove the stereo before I try taking the panels off... Any info would be greatly appreciated.

any info yet?
I am in same boat. I suppose I could trace the wires and figure out what goes where. should be relatively simple... right...
maybe I just need to find power and lights, then wire in new speakers and amplifier... I hope someone responds.
well this is really a diesel discussion aint it... the car is diesel.

I believe you pull up the carpet under the arm rest right behind the sifter wood remove two screws, pull wood trim back and up. Then work your way up to the radio. Though some Beckers you could take the face off and pull up tabs and pull the radio out.

Red/Green (+ constant)
I dont recall switched
dash speakers ar the two little roud plugs behind radio, you will have to bypasss the fader if equipped.
Sorry I am missing some info, this was all off the top of my head.

RE: Wiring harness for 84 300SD?
crutchfield is the place to call for the wiring harness. they had the one for my 81 300 CD. the number is 1-888-955-6000. or visit them online at crutchfield.com,however i had to CALL them as the car is older. cost was twenty or so. the becker radios sre easy to remove. just remove the ***** by pulling them off remove the two nuts on the shafts which also loosens the faceplate. then back out the screws in the corners and pull the radio out by the shafts. follow the install instructios with the wiring harness and if problems arise call crutchfield and they will stay on the phone with you until the problems are resolved. no i dont work for crutchfield. i have used them many times and they are great. hope thiss helped you andrew f @ 81 300 CD
