what year make 123 diesels to? 87 wagon a 123?

Default what year make 123 diesels to? 87 wagon a 123?
i know someone who is selling a rusty 123 diesel wagon but insists it is a 87.it is clearly a 123 body.i thought the earliest they made it was 85.could it have been marketed as an 86 if produced in late 85?
