What is this part? [Leaking Diesel]

1 Attachment(s)
I have a diesel leak coming from here, but I can't seem to find this part. Attachment 2610<----------

The hose is NOT leaking.

It seems as if it's a gasket/seal that's come loose or something, but then again, I'm not the smartest on the subject.

model is a 300sdl , 601 engine, year 1986.

Thank you so much! Any info on the how to fix, and where to get the O-Ring?

Unless you live in Alaska or Canada, you can bypass it completely with no negative effects.

O-ring kit is MB part number 0119973948

Sorry to bother, but bypassing would involve hooking the hose that supplies the fuel thermostat with the hose that receives the fuel to the lift pump, right?
