I've got 20W-50 in there right now, I'd love to use 0W-40 just like my hybrid :p I didn't know that was possible.

Use Mobil Delvac-1 5W-40 in my 300SD, anyways would the car sound orresponds diffrent using
0W-40. (freeking oil cost too much per quart[:@])

I am currently using Castrol GTX Diesel (15W-40) in my 1985 300TD Turbo. It was on sale and I bought 4 gallons. Once I use it up I think I am going to try the AMSOIL synthetic oil. I also use a MityVac fluid extractor.

I was recommended Rotella from Mbz300sdl and haven't had a problem. Also ran into a vw diesel guy who uses Rotella while buying a few jugs and he only had good things to say about the oil. I only use synthetic.

229.xx compliant oils in both cars. typically ELF, Mobil 1 or Motul. Excellent UOAs validating drain intervals of1 year or whenever FSS sez it's time.

Rotella 15W40 - if its good enough forthe big boys (Cummins, Caterpillar etc..) its good enough for my 617s.

50w series 3 mineral. spring summer fall & winter old eng is tired P. S. location south fla.

I like the 15w40 Rotella I just put in the car.
It's 30's outside and I seems to do pretty good
