Vacuum parts?
I'm using a 240D for my Model A and want to strip all peripherals that i can do without. I'm sure I will have more questions along this line later, but for now, I have two things that I need clarification on. 1 is the vacuum pot mounted on the top rear of the injection pump right behind the altitude compensator. Plastic, two vacuum lines (I suspect one in, one out) and a link from it to the accelerator arm on the pump. My understanding is that this if to regulate vacuum to the modulator on auto trans, my my engine came from a car with a standard???. Don't see why I would need this unless it does something else engine related (not car related). 2-there is a vacuum "plug" or sensor that screws into the cooling system right where the coolant comes out of the head. Two vacuum lines. I have no idea what it does but think perhaps its a temperature sensor that, if the coolant gets too high with trip a valve in this thing allowing vacuum through to pull the stop switch?? Idunno. Do I need it?. Thanks
