Default Vacuum Lines '84 300tdt

I have taken a picture of the vacuum lines which connect to a shifting controller on top of the valve cover. Two of the ports have no lines connected, nor are they plugged. Is this correct, or is something missing.

Thanks in advance.

That is correct. Those vacuum lines only control the EGR. Remove it all, plug the EGR and run the vacuum to the transmission directly.

Default The vacuum pump of 300TD

Hello, I'm writing here instead of opening a now topic. I have an '88 Mercedes 300 TD and yesterday I just could'n turn off the engine. It looks like there's something wrong with the vacuum pump. Is there a way to understand what it is before taking the car to the mechanic? Thank you in advance.

I do not know the particulars of your year and Model. On the others a Vacuum Pump Failure would cause insufficient Vacuum to your Brake Booster and result you haveing to use more force on the Brake Pedal.
More than likely you have a Vacuum Leak some where. Do a visual check of your Hoses and see if there is any cracked or not connected.

The Vacuum Shutoff Valve on the Fuel Injection Pump could be going bad. Disconnect the Hose to it and see if there is Oil in the Hose. If there is the Vacuum Shutoff Vlave there could be no good.

There is also a Vacuum Shutoff Valve connected to your Steering Wheel Lock. That Valve or the Hoses there could have a problem.

I do not know if you have Vacuum Door Locks or if you do if you have a separate Vacuum Pump for the Door Locks.
If your Door Locks work off of the Main Vacuum Pump there could be leaks in the Door Lock System.

However, I believe it is always best to check the Vacuum output of the Vacuum Pump just to see what is going on.
