turbo for a diesel
 
i have an 83 300td, i would like to get a turbocharger for it. any idea what turbos work best with these older 5cyl diesel engines? thanks in advance.

124.190
124.193
124.393
?

if 123.190... then i got no info.

i wasn't born yet till 10 years later :D

if you were somewhere near MB/TECHMAN... he can always do the conversions and modifications.

hey you got a non turbo right now ...??if so you cant add a turbo to it themn ,.,,but i got a complete motor for sale great shape i have been working on there car for 6 years..and know it good ,, 168k miles a think ..1000. plus shipping ..crating up extra..if you live close to baton rouge ,,you can come pick it up ...also you can heard it run to ...pm me..sorry i didnt see this before...

Don't you just love the guys, that will bash you for not working here full time, but are "above" the things like posting their location?
I bet the guy is in Israel, so Baton Rouge is not on his way of daily commute. It is too humid there anyway.
Anyway, unless you have a mechanic working for nothing, adding turbo to non-turbo engine will cost you more, than factory turbo-equipped car cost those days.
Not to mention, that turbo engines have reinforced connecting rods and other components.
