sunroof repair problem
 

Greetings:

1983 300D turbo-diesel sedan (420K miles)

The sunroof air deflector deploys normally, but will not depress normally as the sun roof closes. Something be busted, I greatly fear. It opens normally - with a new little scraping sound...closing is a bit tricky because I have to pull it down with my finger (and be quick to get it out of the way before it gets me).

Also can someone tell me (a photo or reference as to how to take it apart would be even better) how to lubricate and check the pads (or whatever) the movable portion of the panel rides on?
