Stopping Fuel

How do I keep the injection pump from continuing to pump fuel while I am doing a compression check?

Got it figured out. Lever with stop on it pushed to the valve cover direction.

RE: Stopping Fuel

If you have the same diesel that I have, just push the manual emergency engine shut off switch. Im not sure exactly how it goes about tis business, but it shuts the engine off without ruinging/damaging it. You may want to try it. Its location shoudl be in your car's manual. Its jsut a red lever on the engine that says "stop".

I think the way it goes about is cutting pressure to the injectors. Im no expert or mechanic though.
