Steering wheel play

RE: Steering wheel play
Your car may be too new for this to be an issue, but my 180D had steering and alignment issues which didn't go away until after I:
--Replaced steering arm ball joints
-- Replaced all (inner and outer) A-arm bushings with new parts (threaded with grease fittings in this car)
-- Replaced kingpins and their bronze bushings (from parts car).
I also replaced the shocks -- non-trivial since the original parts were no longer obtainable, but doable. This didn't affect the steering but improved the ride tremendously.

RE: Steering wheel play
If all other suspension parts are in good order with only the steering box indicating the play, by tightening the worm screw in the steering box, you will remove much, if not all, of the play, but remember, this you will find this to be only a temporary fix as this kind of fix will increase wear within the steering box and isn't a permanent fix! Take one apart, there interesting how they work!
