Problem with fuse(s)???
Hi
Thanks for the advice I've gotten. Wish I could Just go to a mechanic but i'm so broke so will try again!
I bought new fuses. I have a 300D, and I replaced the fuse that looked to me like it had gone out. Nothing was fixed.
My turn lights stopped working, along with my power windows, which is why I'm trying this.
It Took a long time to get that fuse in. Am I missing a tool or something?
Should I just try replacing all the fuses and see what happens?
The other fuses look ok, but then I don't really know what I'm looking for, they just aren't obviously black etc.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Linda

What year 300D would be helpful. There is also a 300D made after 1986 but it has different type of fuses than the ones made before 1986.
On the older ones like my 1984 300D you first look at the thin part of the metal strip to see if it is burned or cracked.
Next you pull the Fuse out and inspect the tips of the Fuse to see if they are corroded or burned. You can also use a wire brush or steel wool to clean the tips.
Next you look at the Brass Frame where the Fuse goes and see if that needs to be cleaned also.
Unforunately if you have not done this sort of work before you are sort of self educating yourself. That is going to take time.

If things really get desperate and you need to get you Window closed and it is not a problem with the Window Motor or the Window Regulator.
Someone would have to pull off what it takes to get the Door Panel off and locate the 2 wires that go to the Window Motor.
You get 2 longer wires and attach one to each Window Motor Wire. You apply one wire to the Negative Terminal of the Battery and the other Wire to the Positive Terminal of the Battery. If you Window Motor and the Window Regulator are OK you Window will move.
If it is moving the wrong direction switching the Battery Terminals the Wires are touching will change the Direction
