Operating temperatures
What's considered a safe operating temperature in a 2.2 190D?
The gauge markings start at 40degreesand goes to 120 where there's a redline after the 120 mark. At 90 the gauge pointeris level.
I noticed that the car normally is consistant at 90 degrees, but sometimes will nearly reach 100 degrees. It never goes over though. Should I be concerned?
It's got a new radiator, fan clutch, coolant, engine temp sensor, and thermostat.

RE: Operating temperatures
Nevermind, I found info. Apparently the car is running correctly, but I will search for an engine temp sensor that kicks in at 95 degrees just to be safer. Right now I have noticed that the fan clutch does work correctly, as it reaches 100 it spikes downward to regular temps.
I drive one every day as my daily driver. I just went through cooling issues.
If everything is working, the car should run between 85 - 95 deg C on the guage. The fan clutch should engage at 100 deg C and disengage at 98-ish deg C.
It runs through a fuse in position 1 or 10 depending on year, etc. The fuse amperage also depends on the year. My car is burning these up, so I suspect a bad clutch.
I'm also going to look for a temp sensor that switches at a lower temp. I sure wished I could find one that comes on at 95 and goes off at 90 deg C.

RE: Operating temperatures
Sounds conerning... imo. What should I look for to keep it cooled? I've only noticed it almost hitting 100 when it's under or at 55mph, but it doesn't seem to be consistant when I'm doing slow city driving or cruising at 55.
