Fuel leaking from injector after $1,000 repair bill :/ Help plz
Hey all, it's my first time here so go easy please
Just had nearly $1k worth of work done to my 1985 300D turbodiesel sedan, including valves adjusted (see receipt if interested). I am not a mechanic really, but I've made a few small repairs to this car over the 10 years or so I've had it and I do my own regular maintenance (oil, fuel filter, etc). I hadn't been driving it often for the past year and a half, so I took it to have some random things fixed last week.
After driving it about 12 miles to and from work, on the drive home I noticed a lot of diesel fumes in the car (not the case previously) and some rattling sound (the air filter housing used to rattle worse than this due to missing some anchor bolts, they supposedly fixed that). I popped the hood when I got home and
.
It seems like the second injector back from the end on the driver side is leaking fuel, though I'm not sure if that's also what's causing the smoke in the video. I think the rattling is probably unrelated and has something to do with the air filter. I had been planning on driving about 6-7 hours round trip this weekend. Can anyone recommend a relatively easy fix with common tools? I'm fairly handy and can figure things out with enough references or instruction. Thanks a ton!
