I just purchased an 84 300td and i really like the car. I didnt know they made such a nice back in the 80's. My only question about the car is the oil pressure gage at idle is about 2 1/2 but once i give it throdle the presure pops up to 3 and when i release a few momments later it comes back down. Is this normal? or whats wrong and should i fix it. the motor runs strong and so does the turbo

It is normal to do that when motor is warm. My 250 D goes at 0,8-1 when itĀ“s really hot.
You donĀ“t have to be worry.

 

my 3oo CD with 69,000 origional miles is the same. when its cold it is always at 3 but when it has run for 45 min to 1 hour, at idle its2.5 . so that seems normal to me.
