newbie needing some help and suggestions...

Hi,

My wife and I are looking at buying a used 1987 300D (wagon) Mercedes.

We are going tomorrow to look at the car and we would like to get some inputs from actual owners or people with experience with this model.

The car has 170K miles, automatic trans, wvo conversion.

We are planing on doing a pre-buy inspection but before spending any money is there anything that we should be looking for (problem areas) on this 1987 model?

So far we know that one of the rear window is not working and looking in this forum it seems that we have seen quite a bit of window problems, is that a known issue or just a fluke...

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Frederic

87 info

currently driving 2 300 87D and 2 300SDL,my son daughter and wife daily drivers..these have same engine/tranny as you are looking at.chec if wagon has hydrolic suspension...if it does have it looked at by a good mechanic as the rear parts can add up to thousands...if you are not a mechanic pay to have it looked at by a car inspection service.these cars can go high miles care free,,,or eat up more money than the car is worth...depends on service history and if engine was overheated...any questions pm me..
