Need opinion: 86 190D 2.5 & 83 300D Turbo
Hi, I've been looking to buy a used car and i've seem to fall in love with Deisel Mercedes.
I'm looking at a 1986 190D 2.5L non turbo and a 1983 300D Turbo. The 190D has 250k miles, and 190k on transmission. New fuel filters, heater fan and glow plugs. Priced at $2500 My concern: The A/C does not work. I plan to drive it to Arizona, so it's pretty important that the A/C works. He had the heater fan replaced, but doesn't know what's wrong with the A/C. The 1983 300D Turbo looks great, owner claims it runs well too. Waiting a reply on mileage. Priced $2000 What do you guys think? Any comments, or suggestions appreciated! -Torin |

Its a toss. At the price they are both about the same.
What do you think of the late 1970 models? I've seen a lot of talk about the late 80's Diesels on the forums, but not much on the 70's. I'm also looking at a 1979 300d with 224k miles, it's been sitting for the last few years but it seems like a great deal at $1500. Unless of course the late 70's models aren't discussed on here for a good reason ;) |
