Hello everyone. Hopefully I can stick around here for a long time, but I need some help. I've been keeping and eye out (and by that I mean scouring Craigslist everyday) for a long while now. Everything around me for W-123's are either overpriced, or around what I want to spend but smashed to high hell. I found a 1977 240d automatic (I would prefer stick, but what are you gonna do?) Anyway, This car is SUPER clean. Its been off the road for years and has been sitting in a garage, the paint is flawless, the interior is fantastic, no rust, it even has a block heater (which I would need) The poster says the car will crank but not turn over. I just left the listing after that and decided to keep looking. Well fast forward to now a month later its still listed. I offered him 500, and he said he could do 600. What, if anything, can I check out on this car when I get up there to see if it will be even worth the 600, and make sure I don't buy a problem car? I have a 66 mustang that I have done all of the work on and brought back to life, so I plan on doing the work myself. I'm not too familiar with diesel engines, so if there is anything that you guys think I should try to test or inspect any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Guys...
