I have a 1984 mercedes benz 300SD and the problem is the carburetor shakes moderetly even with new mounts.

please advice.

Remove the carburator and install an injector pump......seriously, moderate shake is normal with a diesel.

Not the whole car just the carburator shakes and it hitting something i not sure. But the transmission mounting is ok. I just want to know how to stop the shaking.

I think you mean the air cleaner is shaking. Your car, if it's a diesel 300SD does NOT have a carburator. It's normal for the rubber bushings that hold the air cleaner box to the brackets to break. Open the air cleaner top (4 clips and one 10mm nut). You should be able to see the top of the bushings where they come thru the air box there are 3 of them.

You said you replaced the mounts. I assume you mean the motor mounts. They cause shake too....

I found the problem. My engine mounds is mushy (coated with greeze and oil) and one of my air cleaner mounds is broken again.
