looking for a 300d manual conversion driveshaft

the local driveshaft shop won't shorten mine for some reason.

He did one for his own car and another for mine. I gave him my old driveshaft when I found a manual euro 300D in the junkyards, he may still have it.

I sent an email to your friend, but he hasn't responded. A machine shop here has offered to machine a sleeve to go over the cut I made in the middle of a 240D drive shaft. The drive line shops around here claim that nothing can be done to re-tube it normally because of the way it is manufactured. Is this the right way to go about it?
