locating head ID # on 87 300 wagon

locating head ID # on 87 300 wagon
I'm driving a few hours to look at an 87 300 wagon this Saturday (2/23/08), and I need to know how to find the head # (14, 17, etc) to see if it's been replaced.
Would any of you good folks have a photo of the motor showing where the #2 injector is located? Is the # visible without removing anything, just raising the hood?
Any other real-world tips on things to check on an 87 300?
