Just got a 1985 300sd
Hello everyone im new here and rather excited about my recent purchase!
1985 300sd with 192,000 miles.
-paint looks excellent (a sparkly blue with gray undertrim)
-engine starts right away, no blowby, just a leaky valve cover
-tranny shifts well
-interior has that lovely '85 feel, (will get throughly cleaned)
I guess once all the maintainance items are taken care of I will be adding some new stereo equipment. The stock radio seems to not have right channel output, what are the stock sizes one can put in this for speakers?
also is it common for the safety latches on the sides of the hood to break off? as mine needs them..hope theyre replaceable
thanks!

to BOTH,
oddly enough i just bought an '85 SD just this afternoon in Metallic Charcoal body with blood RED leather. = just couldn't resist that color scheme, even with @300K miles (especially at the give-away price).
it needs considerable mechanical work, but it was just too handsome to pass up.= as i'm retired Army & have access to the Auto Craft Shop "on post", i'll "get around to" all the necessary things like cleaning/R&R the door switches, fixing the CC & AC, etc, etc, etc. - my spring/summer project.
yours, TN46
