My2.2 makes a very light ping at the top front of the engine. I have researched this and have came to two possibilities. Either the cylinder isn't getting fuel from an injectoror one or more of the tappets are bad.

I have also noted that when the car got hot (not overheating) that the noise went away and it sounded like a regular gas vehicle.

So I have yet to make a conclusion, but am wondering, can I replace a single injector or is that a bad idea? Also how much would a tappet replacement cost?

When my old engine failed it was from a broken tappet. The master mech explained that the entire engine needed rebuilt so I would like to avoid it again. Lol
