Default Help I got a run away

I had a fuel contamination problem. I pumped it out and got clean fuel. When I finally got it restarted (very hard to restart) I had a full throttle run away. The emergency stop wouldn't stop it. I pulled it loose at the pre filter to stop it. It ran at full roar for about 30 seconds. Wow scary. I talked to the local mechanics they thought somthing (the rack???) might be stuck in the injection pump. Anybody got any ideas?

You may have an ignition vacuum pump issue. the problem with MB diesels is they rely heavily on vacuums which arent always reliable.

I once had to use the emergency shut off for this reason b/c the ignition vacuum broke.

I would agree with the stuck rack guess. What was the source of the contamination? gasoline, water, ex girl friends sugar bowl?
