HELP - 300TD diesel won't come off idle - fuel?
OK, so, I've chanage the primary and secondary fuel filters on our 82' 300TD Turbo Diesel - mainly because she lacks power unless we use a healthy shot of injector cleaner in every tank.
The car has been driven very little the last 3 years due to previous owners health. 280K miles. We've run about a tank and a half of well treated fuel through her, and then the other day, the wife intended on heading out, but coldn't make it out the driveway - the car will literally not build more than about 900 RPM on the motor (idleing - in Neutral), yet starts and idles fine.
This morning, I change the 2 filters, and no difference at all. I cut the old main filter apart, and aside from it being blackish, there was no real amount of crud, as I've seen posted in photo's from others fighting algae...
Next step is to blow air back through the fuel line tward the tank?
***Is there any other - read safty system - which would lock out increased throtle???
I really don't want to drop the tank if I don't need to - and she's plumb full of fuel...
??????????????

I presume all the throttle linkage rods are hooked up? This happened to me last month and one of the rods crossing over the engine top had unthreaded itself from a ball stud. Working the throttle from the firewall you should verify vertical rod at the injector pump pivots the linkage to full throttle stop on the pump. Hard to help when I cannt see it.
