Is the white smoke coming out of the engine or the exhaust pipe? As the car has been standing this could just be steam from condensation build up but I would be suspicious if this does not clear after say 30km of running. It would be a good idea to inspect underneath the oil filler cap and if there is any "white gunk" or white oil then your head gasket could be suspect. A little gentle continuous running for 30KM should clear this if it is just moisture build up though. Hope this helps.

i just got a new battery because the old one wouldn't hold a charge.
i added oil and most of the smoke went away. I havnt got much driving into it but next week im off from school so i will have alot of time. Right now i think the biggest problem is the breaks.. they are very weak and it feels dangerous to go at speeds because i don't think i will be able to stop if there is a problem.
Does anyone know where to find quality breaks (i don't really know what i need, im assuming that i need new brake pads?)

thanks
