funny shut down
Hey now I have a 1974 240D. Standard shift. I replaced motor over the winter. At the end of the install I was waiting for parts,bracket for bowdin wire to shut down leaver" I tried to pull start and the starter engaged normal, to shut down i had to man push back leaver. is this normal

No. It indicates a vacuum leak.

you are not mr cycle it was a plug under the dash that was not connected, wierd but better than pulling the dash |
my big mistake was thinking that a 240D was similar enough to my 300D. I won't do that again.
