Front Rubber Bumper - 1982 MB240D - Problem
 

Have a 1982 240D....

Have tried repeatedly to re-install/affix the left (drivers side) rubber bumper to the fixed bumper with new rubber part with new clips attached. It lasts for only several days before coming apart from the fixed chrome front bumper and then begins to separate from the near side to the middle of the bumper.

The passenger side rubber bumper has not become separated like the drivers side since the car was delivered over 30 years ago. It remains attached and working like a charm.

Don't know what the problem is here....hope somebody can tell me what I am doing wrong or somebody has a fix for this problem....thanks.
