In chicagoland and looking to change wife out of Toyota Avalon with 217k. Want diesel mpg's and little more luxury yet similar size. She gets 26mp and hoping to get 33-34mpg with 1995 e300....this car Im looking at has 285k and is $3995..try to get it at $3500 for small comestic repairs and one seam tear in passenger seat.
Alittle concerned about the AC not blowing cold but cool..told something about how the MB AC system operates different than normal cars---I am new to German and MB cars--so Question #1
Next--what preventative maintenance issues---I think this is a non-interference motor--so no need to change timing belt every XXmiles.
But how often do you guys recommend changing the oil on this motor---seller says that he likes to change every 4 tanks, 2500-3000miles and what kind of oil and specs....on my VW 1.9L tdi I take it 7500mi and use A3 spec. Question #2...
What other maintenance things to perform on a regular schedule---trans fluid change, rotate tires, clean intake manifold/egr cleaning, antifreeze flush, check rear diff.....so any links or answers..thx

 

One last question----did this model come with a key fob for alarm unlocking doors....seller says no fobs, must use key to open and lock....but saw an Alarm sticker on driver side passenger window...could i go to MB dealer to get a fob and programmed if it has alarm??
