Euro car ?
I have a few questions about a complete car I just bought for body parts.I believe the engine is locked up from a woman running it out of oil from a bad oil leak. There is no oil on dip stick and won't turn over. I didn't know it when I bought it but its a 85 300D euro spec that the vin has it as a dealer company car.
#1 Is this car with the euro dealer company car spec rare enough to not part out ? #2 Its a nonturbo. Would the injection pump be ruined from lack of oil ? How would a DIY tell ? #3 If the IP is still good. Would this IP be worth a spare for me. Is it the same or dose my 82 300D turbo have a IP with a boost compensator on it ? #4 I'm assuming the engine is no good. Would this be correct or would it be rebuildable ? #5 Would the head, starter, water pump, etc work on my 82 ? #6 I thought I'v read somewhere that euro cars were faster. If so. What made them faster ? |
forcedinduction. Thanks for you helpfull response. What would be a fair price to ask for that IP even with its unknown shape ? I may have to part the car out some to recoupe some of its purchase cost. There was a reciept for a tranny rebuild in the glove box. Would this 85 euro auto tranny work on our 82 US spec car as a spare ?.

I can't get to look at the number right now on the car but the vin # run down for the tranny is 722405 02 131340 if that helps any. I did a quick google search on the IP and the cheapest core charge I found for a 85 turbo IP was $300. So I was just curious what it may really be worth. Might be one of those how bad dose someone want or need one. If I can get around to it I'll try to get the # off the tranny.
