hello, I recently bought a 1988, 300D turbo with 350k kilometers, it looks great and runs very well but has a few issues, for ex; sometimes it seems as if the turbo is stuck on, at slow speeds it revs high and the turbo kicks in when i press the gas pedal and it doesn't change gear, if i press the pedal a little bit nothing happens. The temperature raises fast to the point that i have to pull over and stop the car, after restarting the problem is gone. I topped up the automatic tranny fluid but may have slightly over filled it because i can't seem to get an accurate reading from the dip stick. I noticed it was leaking tranny fluid after i topped it up. Could this be a tranny problem or perhaps a turbo problem ? please help, thanks.

 

why wont the dipstick let u measure it?? when its nice and hot and idling??

these can be sensitive to overfilling....my 85 sure is.....

 

I tried checking the tranny fluid while its hot and idlying on level ground but there is patchy fluid all up the dipstick and very difficult to get an accurate reading, also the fluid is almost transparent not pink like it is in the bottle and when it leaks onto the driveway.
