Unhappy engine transplant

yes it sure seems like nobody has done that kind swap when weather gets a little warmer i might just take 240 engine out and take a chance that it will fit i have noticed on rear of 300 engine it looks like it has a spacer or adapter. anyway it would be great if will fit the 300 engine has 95 000 miles if it works it should last thanks

Dude, I know how ya feel, I wanted to do the same swap, but i have the manual trans.
I recently decided that im just going to find an V6 or 8.
I almost thought about doing some serious mods, powerstroke v8, but that would be overkill. not really sure myself, from what I can tell though, yeah they will match. but the mounts are going to be off. I am pretty sure the 300 would sit up a little bit further.
Good luck

Question engine swap

thank you all for information regarding engine swap i have got the 300 engine running and it sounds good so far i understand i need new bolts for flywheel. shorten driveshaft 4 inches. and adjust lenght of shift rods etc but the part i dont understand is the flywheel balance bit could you explain abit further do i have to use flexplate with flywheel from 240 or is it the case that if iput 240 flywheel on 300 engine and it fits ok the engine would be out of balance when running or is the ringgear for starter different i would be very greatful if yuo could explain further. ithought i could just swap engines with no problems i can do all mechanical work ok but other stuff not sure if i can get done here i live in small town anyway i sure thank you for the information
