Can I swap a om603.97 with a om603.961 engine?
The om603.97 3.5L engine is imfamous for bent rod and oil consumption. It is installed on a w140 300SD or 350SD MBZ. It is possible to swap it out with a 3.0 L om603.961 engine used in the w126 body 300SD? If it is possible then it would be the best of both world, a reliable engine and a newer w140 body with all the modern gadgets.
Any bright ideas?
