The C220 seems to be a good car with one major exception. The diesel engine and the gearbox are from different worlds. I was spoilt in that I owned a Toyota Carina automatic for 10 years and during that time I never felt a gear change. On the C220 the car never seems to be in the right gear and when it does change it is very obvious. It would appear that the engine/gearbox mapping/software is not compatible. The main dealer says there is nothing wrong. Anybody else have similar experiences and more importantly know what the solution is. Apart from this it is a fabulous car to drive especially on long runs.
