Default A/C clutch slipping

What do I need to do to stop the clutch on the a/c compressor from slipping? My other one went out and I found another at a junk yard so far all it does is slip. What checks do I need to make and is it adjustable?

The A/C compressor clutch is not adjustable, it is either engaged (on) or disengaged (off). If it is slipping it is likely that your A/C is overcharged with refrigerant. Get the level checked ASAP or you may blow a seal somewhere in the system.

depending on the manufacturer of the compressor, their are spacer washers that can be removed from the a/c clutch to account for clutch facing wear. In the Nippondenso compressor, all you have to do is use a rubber strap wrench to hold the a/c pully, losen and remove the small bolt in the middle of the pulley. That allows you to carefully remove the front part of the clutch(taking note of the small washers). By removing one or two of the washers, you can decrease the clearance between the movable electro clutch plate and the back of the clutch pulley. It is strictly trial and error, and it may or may not solve your problem. Good luck...

I used a chevy compressor and retrofited it to R134a in sahop class. We sucked it all out, and vacuumed it for 40 minutes. It might just be a bad compressor I got it at a junk yard.
