Back in the W123 family - Hello to all
I've been away from the MBdiesel family for many years - but with the price of fuel, I've seen the error of my ways, repented and bought an 83 300D - 204K...nice service history, clean solid car. It's in the paint shop and I hope to have 'her' home next week some time. I drive approx 2500 - 3000 miles per month and am looking forward to better fuel economy - I'm hoping to get around 30mpg hi-way - does that sound reasonable, with sensible driving??

Your car was rated new to perform at 23-28 mpg.

Thanks for the reply - so to make certain I understand you....was the rating 23/city, and 28/highway?
Even at 28, that's double what I've been getting - I've been driving my 02 Land Rover for the last few years in my work, a GREAT road vehicle! I travel the Carolina's and Virginia, and am wearing out my Rover, and want topreserve it- but I'm one of the few that has had good results from a Land Rover - this is my second one...but I also amvery "religious" as to maintenance and who works on my vehicles.Last month was a major wake up - business is down, but also weird...I spent $1000 in fuel last month, and that's no longer OK! I'm actually very excited about getting back in car I really loved and enjoyed years back. My wife thinks I'm crazy, but that's not the first time... |
